2007 ECIDC Annual Banquet

David Rumbarger, CEO of the Community Development Foundation located in Tupelo, Mississippi, was the guest speaker.   CDF is a 59-year-old comprehensive economic development organization comprised of the Lee County Council of Governments, Tupelo Area Chamber of Commerce, Bluebird Utilities, the IDEA Center incubator and Lee County's industrial parks and economic development program.  Under David's leadership Tupelo/Lee County was ranked number 2 in growth.  David has 20 years of economic development experience including a stint as member of the governor's cabinet in Alabama and directed the Department of Economic and Community Affairs.  His career in economic development began at Alabama Gas Corporation.  He is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) and holds a master's degree in economic development from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Dave spoke to the group about the impact landing the multi-million dollar Toyota project had on regional economic development in Pontotoc, Union and Lee Counties, Mississippi.
