POSITION TITLE:ECIDC Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:Required to perform a variety of tasks for the East Central Illinois Development Corporation including    administrative, planning, technical, marketing and office duties through the direct supervision of the ECIDC Executive Director at Lake Land College.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for coordinating economic development efforts and projects including marketing with the Executive Director for the ECIDC eleven county region.
  • Responsible for collecting information for and authoring the ECIDC bi-monthly electronic newsletter.
  • Responsible for continuous maintenance of the ECIDC website.
  • Coordinate activities and routine operations and complete all correspondence and inquiries of ECIDC in consultation with the ECIDC Executive Director.
  • Assist Executive Director in planning, scheduling, attending and recording minutes of all Board of Directors and Committee meetings.
  • Assist Executive Director in partnering, scheduling, and planning special events and workshops provided by the Corporation.
  • Responsible for assisting in the coordination of marketing and recruitment of membership.
  • Maintain ECIDC financial records in cooperation with the ECIDC Treasurer and Executive Director.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Associate degree required.

Experience: Three years office experience required. Some economic development or comparable experience preferred.

SKILLS: Effective oral and written communication skills, organizational and planning skills, scheduling, basic knowledge of word processing software and spreadsheets. Ability to work in a team environment, learn new software programs, keep accurate records, typing, and filing required.

PERSONAL: Ability to work independently, cooperate and interact with a variety of people, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines and work under pressure. Must be able to relate well to and communicate with public, and exercise good decision-making skills. Occasional evenings may be required.  Periodic local travel will be necessary for job-specific duties and professional development activities.
